What to look for in a padel bag
- Racket bag or backpack: a racket bag (a "paletero") is a long holdall for several rackets plus clothes and shoes. A backpack is easier to carry on public transport, but two rackets is already a tight fit.
- A thermal compartment: heat in a car boot in summer and cold in winter affect a racket's resin and foam core. If your bag lives in the car or you have a good racket, it's worth having.
- A separate shoe pocket: ideally ventilated, so sand from the court and smells stay away from clean clothes.
- Size: Decathlon describes backpacks as around 30 litres and padel bags as 35 to 54 litres. Medium bags for 2 to 3 rackets are the most popular. Advertised racket numbers assume you're not also packing shoes and clothes.
- Build: zips are the first thing to fail on cheap bags, so look for sturdy zips and padded straps if you walk to the club.
The bags
1. Kuikma PBP Open 14 L: cheapest way to carry a racket
A slim 14-litre backpack with pockets for one racket, a bottle and a can of balls. No shoe pocket, and no thermal lining listed. Decathlon customers rate it 4.7 out of 5 from 194 reviews.
Price seen: £10.99 at Decathlon UK.
2. Kuikma 35 L Insulated Elite: best value racket bag
An insulated pocket for two rackets, a separate ventilated shoe pocket and three padded straps, so you can carry it by hand, on your shoulder or as a backpack. 57 x 32 x 28 cm. Decathlon customers rate it 4.8 out of 5 from 260 reviews and praise the value, though one mentions loose stitching. It isn't waterproof.
Price seen: £34.99 at Decathlon UK.
3. NOX AT10 Team: lots of room for the money
Agustín Tapia's team bag: a ThermoTech pocket for two rackets, a main compartment for three more, a ventilated shoe pocket and backpack straps. 42 litres. It's the 2024 model, now discounted. We found no product reviews.
Price seen: £48.99, down from £61.99, at Padel Market.
4. HEAD Tour Padel Bag L: big capacity
A large racket bag with an insulated compartment and a ventilated shoe compartment, for players carrying several rackets. This is the 2025 colourway at a sale price; the 2026 version costs more. We found no product reviews.
Price seen: £56.99, down from £85.99, at Padel Market.
5. Bullpadel Hack backpack: a premium backpack
Paquito Navarro's backpack, with a reinforced thermal pocket for up to two rackets, a ventilated section for shoes or clothes, a padded laptop pocket and a chest strap. 32 x 50 x 22 cm. A newer 2027 version is now on sale elsewhere. We found no product reviews.
Price seen: £57.49, down from £75, at Express Padel.
6. Kuikma Insulated Backpack Pro: for commuting
A thermal racket pocket (Decathlon says it holds a steady temperature for 4 hours), a ventilated shoe pocket you can reach from outside, and a laptop sleeve. Customers like the materials and zips, but say the shoe pocket is small and two rackets are a tight fit. Decathlon's page calls it 40 litres in the title and 30 litres in the specs.
Price seen: £59.99 at Decathlon UK (low stock when we checked).
7. adidas Multigame: room for four rackets
Two thermal compartments for up to four rackets, plus a shoe section. 56 x 35 x 29 cm. The pick if you carry spare rackets or share kit. We found no product reviews.
Price seen: £80.99, down from £90, at PDH Sports.
Do you need a padel bag?
Not to start. A racket cover and any sports bag will do. A thermal bag starts to make sense once you own a good racket and keep it in the car. Still choosing a racket? See best rackets for beginners.
